The Final Chapter of 2024
The final chapter of 2024 is here, and what a year it’s been! Time flies, but it leaves us with invaluable lessons and moments to reflect on. Here are the lessons that I learned this year:
The first lesson I learned is from a book I read: Two Words, Imperfect Action. It is no secret that I am a perfectionist in my work. When I lack confidence or need a break, I think of the words “Imperfect Action.” These two words mean that I must take action and do the work no matter what time or day. There is no lesson better than always making an effort and not giving up.
The second lesson I have learned and taken from my most excellent mentor, Maria Hemminger, CSP, is Underpromise and Overdeliver. As a professional, the word promise is a tricky topic. Can I promise my clients a 100% increase in their social media during our first month in partnership? Probably not, but I will do everything possible to put my best foot forward in mastering your message and matching your marketing goals through my efforts. I encourage you as a professional to take this advice, as it is one of the best I have learned as a young entrepreneur. Don’t drop the ball!
Lastly, I have learned to take One Day at a Time. Tomorrow is SO unpredictable. Running a business and managing a podcast, every day is different. I can get a call for my next big project/client today, and tomorrow, I can say YES to a life forever with my best friend. Without worrying about what is next in my life making the stress fade, I encourage you to focus on the NOW.
While thankful for the lessons learned in 2024, I am beyond anxious about what life brings in 2025. In 2024, my business increased sales by 93.35% from 2023; I rebranded my company vision to Ashton Jo Marketing, I got engaged to my life partner, moved back to my hometown, and graduated with my associate’s degree in Marketing from Columbus State Community College.
As you reflect on 2024, what did you learn this year? ✨
